This Privacy Policy applies to the Wherewolf mobile application and related services operated by Avvienash Jaganathan ("Wherewolf", "we", "us", or "our").

Information We Collect
Wherewolf collects and processes the information needed to create accounts, authenticate users, run multiplayer game sessions, provide support, and keep the service working.
Account and Authentication Information
We may collect:
- Email address
- Display name
- Authentication identifiers, such as user ID or player ID
- Sign-in provider information, such as whether you sign in with email or Google
- Authentication tokens, which may be stored securely on your device to keep you signed in
Gameplay Information
We may collect and process gameplay data, including:
- Game IDs and lobby membership
- Player display names in a game session
- Roles, factions, game phase, timers, votes, night actions, and game results
- Game events needed to synchronize gameplay between players
Some gameplay information, such as display names, game state, votes, results, and role-related information when revealed by gameplay, may be visible to other players in the same game session.
Support and Feedback Information
If you submit feedback or contact support through the app, we may collect:
- Feedback category
- Message text
- Optional technical or app context included with the request, such as app route or game context
Technical Information
We may process technical information needed to operate and protect the service, such as:
- IP address
- Device operating system and platform information
- Request timestamps
- Authentication and security logs
- Error, diagnostic, or operational logs
Wherewolf does not request access to your precise location, camera, microphone, contacts, photos, or files for core gameplay.
How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Create and manage user accounts
- Authenticate users and maintain sessions
- Run and synchronize multiplayer games
- Store and update player profile data, such as display name
- Provide support and respond to feedback
- Detect, prevent, and investigate abuse, fraud, security issues, or service misuse
- Maintain, debug, and improve the app and related backend services
- Comply with legal obligations
Wherewolf does not currently include third-party advertising. We do not sell your personal data.
Local Device Storage
Wherewolf may store information locally on your device, including:
- Authentication tokens in secure storage
- Player/session identifiers needed to restore your session
- Local preferences, such as whether sound is enabled
You can stop local collection by uninstalling the app. Uninstalling the app may not delete information already transmitted to our backend services. To request deletion of backend data, contact us or use the in-app account deletion option where available.
Third-Party Services
We use trusted third-party service providers to operate the app, authenticate users, host backend infrastructure, and provide platform services. These providers may process information only as needed to provide their services to us.
These providers may include:
- Amazon Web Services (AWS), including Amazon Cognito, for authentication, backend hosting, account management, and service infrastructure
- Google Sign-In / Google OAuth, if you choose to sign in with Google
- Google Play services and Google Play Console for app distribution, platform services, and developer operations
Third-party services may process information according to their own privacy policies and terms.
Cookies and Tracking Technologies
Wherewolf does not currently use advertising cookies or advertising tracking pixels in the mobile app.
Third-party services used for authentication, hosting, backend functionality, app distribution, or platform services may process technical information according to their own privacy policies.
Data Retention
We retain personal data only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including providing the service, maintaining accounts, resolving disputes, preventing abuse, and meeting legal obligations.
General retention practices:
- Account and player profile data is retained while your account remains active.
- Gameplay data may be retained as needed to operate game sessions, troubleshoot issues, prevent abuse, and maintain service integrity.
- Support messages may be retained as needed to respond to requests and improve the service.
- Security, diagnostic, and operational logs may be retained for a limited period unless longer retention is required for legal, security, or abuse-prevention purposes.
- Aggregated or anonymized data that no longer identifies a user may be retained indefinitely.
Account Deletion and Privacy Requests
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by contacting support@wherewolf.info.
Where available, you may also delete your account from within the app using the Delete Account option. Deleting your account removes your player account data from the service, subject to limited retention where required for legal compliance, security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, backups, or operational purposes.
Your California Privacy Rights
If you are a California resident, you may have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), including the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to request deletion, the right to correct inaccurate information, the right to opt out of sale or sharing, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising your rights.

International Data Transfers
Wherewolf and its service providers may process information in countries outside your country of residence. Data protection laws in those countries may differ from the laws in your jurisdiction.
Where required by applicable law, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers, such as contractual protections, legally recognized transfer mechanisms, or consent where required.
Children
Wherewolf is not intended for children under 16 years of age, or a higher age where required by applicable law. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
If you believe a child has provided personal data to Wherewolf, contact support@wherewolf.info so we can take appropriate action.
Security
We use reasonable technical, administrative, and organizational safeguards designed to protect the information we process. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Data Breach Notification
If a data breach occurs that affects your personal data, we will notify affected users and authorities as required by applicable law.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the effective date. Where required by law, we will provide additional notice or request consent for material changes.
